SKIN OF COLOR UPDATE PRE-CONFERENCE VIRTUAL SYMPOSIUM

Reaching New Heights in the Management of Dermatologic Conditions in Patients With Skin of Color – Targeted Therapies and Individualized Approaches

Co-chaired by Dr. Andrew F. Alexis and Dr. Eliot F. Battle, this dynamic, case-based virtual symposium brings together leading experts in dermatology to spotlight the expanding role of targeted therapies in managing dermatologic conditions in patients with skin of color.

Through real-world clinical scenarios and evidence-based insights, faculty will explore JAK inhibitors, biologics, oral small molecule agents, and emerging therapies—including oral peptides—across a wide spectrum of inflammatory skin diseases. The discussions will emphasize practical clinical decision-making, patient selection, long-term safety, and off-label use in conditions such as atopic dermatitis, psoriasis, vitiligo, hidradenitis suppurativa, alopecia areata, and more.

Faculty will review:

  • How to apply clinical trial data and real-world experience to patients with skin of color
  • Key safety considerations, including black box warnings and risk mitigation
  • Strategies for managing side effects and selecting appropriate patients
  • Insights into novel therapies for inflammatory skin conditions
