OVERVIEW
Anticoagulant use has been critical for reducing the risk of stroke in patients with atrial fibrillation. However, currently available agents are often underutilized or utilized inappropriately primarily due to safety concerns, leading to suboptimal patient outcomes. Emerging evidence suggests that factor XI is a promising new target for inhibition of pathological thrombosis. Join us in this gameshow format and test your knowledge against your peers about thromboembolic disease and factor XI inhibition!
TARGET AUDIENCE
This activity is intended for cardiologists, emergency medicine physicians, hematologists, vascular medicine and thrombosis specialists, primary care physicians, nurses/nurse practitioners, physician associates, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals involved in the management of thrombosis.
GOAL STATEMENT
The goal of this activity is for learners to be better able to identify approaches to anticoagulation for thromboembolic disease, gaps in current management related to thromboembolic protection, and the future of thrombosis prevention with factor XI inhibitors in the setting of atrial fibrillation (AF), secondary stroke prevention, acute coronary syndrome (ACS), and venous thromboembolism (VTE).
